During this visit, you will explore the 800 m2 exhibition space and the 2000 objects on display. You will discover how farmers ingeniously adapted to the harsh, long winters and the solutions they found in this self-sufficient life: sustainable architecture in harmony with its environment, know-how, lifestyles… Visiting Maison Michaud also means discovering stories about the Franco-Swiss border, where small and large historical events intertwine: border markers, smuggling, resistance, and smugglers during the Second World War… Come and spend a pleasant time in this old farmhouse, so characteristic of the Jura Mountains!

On site you will find: - a shop selling souvenirs and regional products.
- A parking area for coaches is available.


Outside of school holidays: Thursdays at 14:30 p.m. by reservation (departure: minimum 6 people) Self-guided visit of the ecomuseum possible during opening hours: numerous written, audio and video resources also allow you to visit independently. 

Guided tour: all year round for groups of 10 or more people, by reservation. 

Every Friday at 14pm, the ecomuseum invites everyone to witness the baking of bread and pastries!

Description

Located at an altitude of over 1100 m, Maison Michaud, a typical farmhouse with a smokehouse in the Haut-Doubs region, has stood the test of time since 1683. Immerse yourself in the life of the peasants of the Jura mountains from the 17th century to the beginning of the 20th century.

During this visit, you will explore the 800 m² exhibition space and the 2000 objects on display. You will discover how farmers ingeniously adapted to the harsh, long winters and the solutions they found in this self-sufficient lifestyle: sustainable architecture in harmony with its environment, know-how, ways of life…

Visiting the Maison Michaud also means discovering stories about the Franco-Swiss border, where small and great historical events intertwine: border markers, smuggling, resistance, and smugglers during the Second World War…

Come and spend a pleasant time in this old farmhouse, typical of the Jura Mountains!

On site, you will find:
- a souvenir and regional products shop.
- A parking area for coaches is available.

Outside of school holidays: Thursdays at 14:30 pm by reservation (departure: minimum 6 people)

Self-guided visits to the ecomuseum are possible during opening hours: numerous written, audio and video resources also allow you to visit independently.

Guided tour: all year round for groups of 10 or more people, by reservation.

Every Friday at 14pm, the ecomuseum invites everyone to witness the baking of bread and pastries!
