A peat bog is a wetland, a relic of the last ice age. It is the result of the slow evolution of what was once an acidic marsh. The flora of the peat bog is an exceptional and unique heritage, resulting from the adaptation of species to the poor, acidic environment.
Lake Lamoura is located at an altitude of 1 m. It is the highest lake in the Jura.
A 4,5 km themed trail lasting 1 hours will help you discover the lake and the environment in which it is located.
In July and August, you can enjoy the shores of the lake with a beach equipped for swimming and supervised by a lifeguard.
Inaccessible during winter (December to mid-April)
The Lamoura peat bog is a wetland, a refuge for rare biodiversity that plays a vital role in preserving water resources and adapting to climate change. It is a Ramsar-certified site, an international convention for the conservation and wise use of wetlands and their resources.
