The Great Jura Crossing Snowshoeing, LONS-LE-SAUNIER Cedex - Les Rousses Resort | Les Rousses Resort

The Great Jura Crossing on Snowshoes

The Grande Traversée du Jura on snowshoes: a specific route, adapted to this means of transport! Sneak between 2 spruces to emerge in a clearing, a vast valley that extends into the distance with the view of the Monts Jura. Reliefs that soften with the snow.
In winter there is no path, sometimes a trace. The route is marked with discreet ribbons that will guide you from village to village.

The stay is primarily a hiking trip and if there is a lack of snow, we do not cancel reservations. The winter atmosphere and light will be there even if you can't put on snowshoes. The GTJ winter route sometimes crosses wetlands that are not passable without snow. We will show you the route to follow to avoid them in the road book; it is often a small road. The mountain is very different in winter. The colors are not the same as summer and the sun is lower on the horizon, providing sunset lights throughout the day.
