In the 15th century, the Franco-Flemish school saw the emergence of profound innovations that would leave a lasting mark on the history of musical composition. Among its major figures was Josquin Desprez, author of the famous song "Mille regretz" (A Thousand Regrets). Between northern France and what is now the Netherlands, several generations of musicians, whose talent shone throughout Europe, succeeded one another. Many of them stayed in Italy, then at the heart of the artistic Renaissance; some briefly, others for extended periods, like Adrien Willaert and Jacques Arcadelt.
The Ensemble Près de votre oreille wishes today to explore this fundamental repertoire by paying tribute to a genre that is dear to it: the song.
