BaliséOr, introduce yourself to orienteering:

Discover the world of orienteering thanks to BaliséOr, the permanent orienteering course along the ramparts of the fort of Les Rousses.
To practice in sneakers or on snowshoesThis activity is open to those wishing to learn or improve their orienteering skills. all year. The various routes are located outside the ramparts of the magnificent and imposing Fort des RoussesAccessible for young and old.

An innovative project, BaliséOr is the first permanent orientation course with electronic timing system in France. Participants can have fun comparing their results with other participants and the reference times of François Gonon, 2011 World Champion in orienteering relay.

  • Green course : very easy, 2 km, approximately 45 minutes (distances correspond to the shortest route between the different markers).
  • Blue course : easy, 3.5 km, approximately 1 hour.
  • Red course : difficult, 4,5 km, approximately 1h30.
  • Purple route : difficult, 4,5 km, approximately 1h30.
  • Black course : very difficult, 5,5 km, approximately 1 hour 45 minutes.

Access to the course and orientation map of the difficulty of your choice: €7.00 (€5.70 from 4).
Compass and magnetic card option: €20.00 deposit by credit card only (refunded upon return of the equipment to the Tourist Office at the end of the activity). Compass for sale: €4.00.

This short circuit, of approximately 3 kmThis trail is easily accessible to everyone, whether in sneakers (summer) or snowshoes (winter). It's an ideal and fun walk for families, punctuated with information panels and questions. Follow paths once used by soldiers.
  • Rouss'en piste – Cultural stroll : At a distance of 2.3 km for 1h30 Take a stroll and discover the historical and heritage features of village of Les Rousses through 12 iconic places and monumentsLet yourself be guided along a fun and engaging route. A great cultural experience guaranteed! This route offers users a new experience through its innovative concept of treasure hunt in digital version. The application allows you to travel from one place to another while solving missions using clues.
  • Rouss'en Piste – A stroll along the water Discover the unique natural heritage of the Haut-Jura peat bogs thanks to the discovery trail around the Lake of Rousses. Walk along wooden boardwalks accessible to people with reduced mobility, punctuated by information panels about the local geology, fauna, and flora. Follow these interpretive trails, marked by panels that will enrich your knowledge of these rare protected environments.
