Snowshoeing in the Jura is an ancient activity that remains today accessible to everyoneIndeed, it offers an outdoor experience that is both fun and contemplative.

What is the difference between snowshoe “routes” and “tracks”?

“tracks” are regularly groomed and marked for safe travel (depending on snow conditions, these circuits are also accessible to pedestrians).
“routes” are marked but are not groomed, which offers more surprises.

The snowshoe trails and routes are accessible with the Walk Pass and all Pass'nordic, a map of all snowshoe trails is offered to you upon presentation of your Pass valid.

1/ To access the snowshoe trails and routes of the Les Rousses resort: Bois d'Amont, Prémanon, Lamoura and Les Rousses :

Groups : Reduced rates for groups of 15 people or more and for school groups. Inquire and book with the Groups department of the Central Les Rousses Booking (groups@lesrousses-reservation.com).

Tips :

  • Access to the snowshoe trails and routes of the Station des Rousses is free for any holder of a valid Pass'Nordic (cross-country skiing).
  • Location of snowshoes in the resort's sports shops.
  • Think about the “Freedom Spaces”, accessible free of charge, for your short and easy walks!
  • Picnic rooms are accessible free of charge for holders of a valid Pass.

We offer you insurance so you can enjoy the snow with complete peace of mind. Insurance ASSURE'GLISSE Cover medical, search, rescue on the slopes, and repatriation costs. Seasonal insurance also covers the loss or theft of the Pass (purchased more than 3 days ago). The guarantees apply for the duration of the Pass.

Snowshoeing in the Jura: guided hikes

Supervised snowshoe outings for the day, half-day or at night are offered by various service providers including: Ski Schools of the resort. Thus, in addition to the pleasure of a snowshoe walk, you will learn to recognize the fauna and flora of our mountains and discover the secrets of the Jura.

It should be noted

Some parts of the forests in our territory (Massacre, Sambine and Risoux) are classified as biotope area*, so it is prohibited from leaving the marked and secure trails, from December 15 to May 14. Check with the resort's tourist offices.
*A biotope zone is an area where specific regulations apply in order to preserve the wealth of wildlife, of which the Capercaillie is the emblem. You will find additional information here.
